This support document is available for the following products:

A username is required for the login to the user interface

A username is now requested when opening the user interface of a Mesh Repeater of the FRITZ! Mesh Set via the internet (e.g. via MyFRITZ!).

Cause

  • Just like the Mesh Master, the Mesh Repeater also has user controls. Therefore, to access the user interface of the Mesh Repeater from the internet, a username and password must be entered. The user must be authorized to access the device from the internet.

1 Setting up FRITZ!Repeater users

Adapt the rights of the automatically created standard user (with the name 'fritz' and a random four-digit number, e.g. 'fritz1234') for the login via the internet, or configure a new user with the right to access from the internet. The configuration must be done locally in the home network.

  1. Click on 'System' in the user interface of the FRITZ!Repeater.
  2. Click on 'FRITZ!Repeater Users' in the 'System' menu.
  3. Click on the (Edit) button for the user who should be allowed to access the FRITZ!Repeater from the internet or set up a new user for internet access:
    1. Click on the 'Add User' button.
    2. Enter a name, email address, and password for the user in the corresponding fields.
  4. Enable the 'Access from the internet allowed' option.
  5. Enable the 'FRITZ!Repeater Settings' option.
  6. Click on 'Apply' to save the settings and on the FRITZ!Repeater, confirm that the procedure may be executed, if you are asked to do so.
