Setting up MyFRITZ!App for iOS
With MyFRITZ!App for iOS, you can easily and securely access your FRITZ!Repeater configured as an internet router and your home network when you are at home or on the go.
You can also use MyFRITZ!App to access several FRITZ!Boxes or FRITZ!Repeaters. To do so, you only have to register MyFRITZ!App once with each FRITZ! product as described here.
Note:If you are using the FRITZ!Repeater as a Mesh Repeater, proceed as described in the guide Accessing Mesh Repeaters over the internet.
Requirements / Restrictions
- Apple iOS 18 or later is installed on the smartphone or tablet.
Note:All instructions on configuration and settings given in this guide refer to the latest FRITZ!OS for the FRITZ!Repeater.
1 Preparations
Setting up a Wi-Fi connection to the FRITZ!Repeater
When setting up the app, the smartphone or tablet must be connected to the FRITZ!Repeater's Wi-Fi network (not the guest network):
- Configure the Wi-Fi connection to the FRITZ!Repeater.
Disabling the VPN connection
When setting up the app, no VPN connection (for example NordVPN) and no comparable internet anonymization services (for example Apple iCloud Private Relay) may be active on the smartphone or tablet:
- Disable all of the VPN connections on the mobile device.
Configuring the FRITZ!Repeater to allow access for applications
In the factory settings, the FRITZ!Repeater is configured to allow applications to access it. If you changed the FRITZ!Repeater's settings, allow access from applications again:
- Click on 'Home Network' in the user interface of the FRITZ!Repeater.
- Click on 'Network' in the 'Home Network' menu.
- Click on the 'Network Settings' tab.
- Click on 'Change Advanced Network Settings'.
- Enable the 'Permit access for apps' option on the 'Access Settings in the Home Network' tab.
- Click on 'Apply' to save the settings.
2 Installing MyFRITZ!App
- Install MyFRITZ!App from the Apple App Store on your smartphone or tablet.
- Start MyFRITZ!App.
- Enter the FRITZ!Repeater password. If you are asked to enter a username and password, enter the account information of a FRITZ!Repeater user who is authorized to access FRITZ!Repeater settings.
Note:You can edit the account information and access rights of users under 'System > FRITZ!Repeater Users' in the user interface.
- Tap on the 'Save' button to complete the configuration.
3 Configuring MyFRITZ! internet access
If you want to use MyFRITZ!App to access the user interface of your FRITZ!Repeater from the internet, set up your FRITZ!Repeater for internet access via MyFRITZ!Net!:
4 Configuring further FRITZ! products in MyFRITZ!App
The following steps are only necessary if you want to access several FRITZ!Boxes or FRITZ!Repeaters operating as internet routers with MyFRITZ!App:
- Connect your smartphone or tablet to the Wi-Fi network of the FRITZ! product that you want to set up in MyFRITZ!App.
- Start MyFRITZ!App.
- Tap on the gear symbol
on the top left. - Tap on 'Set up new FRITZ! device' and then on 'Connect MyFRITZ!App'.
- Select the FRITZ! product to which you want to connect MyFRITZ!App.
- Enter the FRITZ!Box password. If you are asked to enter a username and password, enter the account information of a FRITZ!Box user who is authorized to access FRITZ!Box settings.
Note:You can edit the account information and access rights of users under 'System > FRITZ!Box/FRITZ!Repeater Users' in the user interface.
- Tap on the 'Save' button to complete the configuration. From now on, MyFRITZ!App connects to the device it was connected to last. Use the 'Settings' menu to switch between the devices configured in MyFRITZ!App.
