Configuring a mobile phone number in the FRITZ!Box

If you configured internet access via the mobile network in the FRITZ!Box, you can use the mobile phone number of the SIM card to make calls with the FRITZ!Box.

Configure the mobile phone number in the FRITZ!Box. Then you can assign the mobile phone number to your phones.

You can also conduct calls with the mobile phone number when the FRITZ!Box is not currently using the mobile network to establish the internet connection.

Requirements

  • The mobile network dongle supports the 'CSV' (Circuit Switched Voice) function.
  • You are using a SIM card with a mobile phone number.

Functions that are not supported

  • Call diversions cannot be configured for mobile telephone numbers.

Note:All instructions on configuration and settings given in this guide refer to the latest FRITZ!OS for the FRITZ!Box.

1 Entering your location information

  1. Click on 'Telephony' in the FRITZ!Box user interface.
  2. Click on 'Phone Numbers' in the 'Telephony' menu.
  3. Click on the 'Line Settings' tab.
  4. Select your country from the drop-down list under 'Location Information'. If your country is not listed, select ‘Other country’.
  5. For the 'Country code', enter the leading zeros in the first field and the country code in the second field (for example, enter '00' and '49' for Germany).
  6. For the 'Area code', enter the leading zero in the first field and the area code in the second field (for example '0' and '30' for Berlin).

  7. Click on 'Apply' to save the settings. On the FRITZ!Box, confirm that the procedure may be executed, if you are asked to do so.

2 Configuring a mobile phone number

  1. Click on 'Internet' in the FRITZ!Box user interface.
  2. Click on 'Mobile Network' in the 'Internet' menu.
  3. Enable the 'Telephony via mobile network' option.
  4. Enter your mobile phone number.
  5. Enter a name of your choice in the 'Display name' field.
    • When you make or receive calls, the display name is then shown on your phone. The display name tells you which number was used to make the call or which number a caller dialled.
  6. Click on 'Apply' to save the settings.

The mobile phone number is now displayed under 'Telephony > Telephone Numbers' and you can assign it to your telephony devices.
