Saving and restoring FRITZ!Repeater settings

You can save the settings of your FRITZ!Repeater in a backup file and use it to restore all of the settings, if necessary.

Note:You can also have the push service save the settings automatically. The 'Save Settings' push service automatically sends an email with the backup file before every update and each time the factory settings are loaded.

Requirements / Restrictions

When restoring the backup file in a different FRITZ!Repeater, the FRITZ!OS version of the other FRITZ!Repeater must be at least as high as the FRITZ!OS version of the old FRITZ!Repeater.

Note:All instructions on configuration and settings given in this guide refer to the latest FRITZ!OS for the FRITZ!Repeater.

1 Saving settings of the FRITZ!Repeater

Click on 'System' in the user interface of the FRITZ!Repeater.
Click on 'Backup' in the 'System' menu.
Click on 'Save Settings'.
Enter a password.
Tip:Keep the password in a safe place! The backup file can only be used after entering the password.
Click on 'OK' and on the FRITZ!Repeater, confirm that the procedure may be executed, if you are asked to do so.
Save the file 'Settings_FRITZ.Repeater_[...].export' on your computer. If the browser blocks the file download, click on 'Keep' in Microsoft Edge and Chrome.
Click on 'Finish'.

2 Restoring the FRITZ!Repeater's settings

Click on 'System' in the user interface of the FRITZ!Repeater.
Click on 'Backup' in the 'System' menu.
Click on 'Restore Settings'.
Click on the 'Browse...' or 'Choose File' button.
Select the file 'Settings_FRITZ.Repeater[...].export' with the settings you want to restore and click on 'Next'.
If you want to restore the settings to the same FRITZ!Repeater, enable the option 'Restore all of the settings'.
- If you want to restore the settings to a different FRITZ!Repeater or only want to restore certain settings, enable the option 'Select manually the settings to be restored'.
Click on 'Next'.
Enter the password you assigned when creating the backup file and click on 'Next'.
If it is the same FRITZ!Repeater, all of the settings will now be applied. Click on 'Restore Settings'.
- If it is a different FRITZ!Repeater or you enabled the option 'Select manually...', enable the settings you would like to import and click on 'Restore'.
