The guest access of the FRITZ!Powerline device can only be used with a FRITZ!Box or a FRITZ!Repeater, if the FRITZ!Repeater is used in router / Mesh Master mode.

In the FRITZ!Mesh, the FRITZ!Powerline device expands the guest network of the FRITZ!Box or the FRITZ!Repeater by creating an additional Wi-Fi network with the same settings as the FRITZ!Box or the FRITZ!Repeater. The guest access cannot be used with routers from other manufacturers.

If your router has its own guest access function, you can use the FRITZ!Powerline device to increase the range of that guest network. To do so, connect the FRITZ!Powerline device with the router's guest network. Note that in this case, the FRITZ!Powerline device only expands the router's guest network and not the router's conventional Wi-Fi network.
