Using the contacts of an online provider
You can configure multiple phone books in the FRITZ!Box. If you have several FRITZ!Fons, you can use a different phone book for each FRITZ!Fon.
You can save phone books in the FRITZ!Box and additionally configure the following online contacts in the FRITZ!Box:
Google contacts, Apple iCloud contacts, and contacts from an email account with Telekom Mail, 1&1, GMX or WEB.DE. You can also configure CardDAV contacts on the internet or on a CardDAV server in the home network in the FRITZ!Box.
If you are using an online phone book in the FRITZ!Box, the phone book in the FRITZ!Box will be synchronized at regular intervals with the phone book at your online provider. You do not have to maintain your contacts twice.
Requirements / Restrictions
- An online phone book may contain up to 1000 entries. However, if you have several hundred entries, it may take longer to open the phone book and navigation could be slowed down noticeably.
- If an online phone book contains contact pictures, these are displayed. However, you cannot add contact pictures in the FRITZ!Box.
- An 1&1 phone book can only be used if the corresponding email address belongs to a DSL or mobile phone contract. You cannot use addresses from web hosting contracts.
- If the FRITZ!Box is configured as a Mesh Repeater and it adopts the phone book from the Mesh Master, configure online phone books in the Mesh Master.
Note:All instructions on configuration and settings given in this guide refer to the latest FRITZ!OS for the FRITZ!Box.

- New phone book entries you created in the FRITZ!Box or on the website of your online provider are adopted into the phone book at the other location.
- Changes you made to phone book entries in the FRITZ!Box or on the website of your online provider are adopted into the phone book at the other location.
- Phone book entries you deleted on the website of your online provider are deleted from the FRITZ!Box phone book as well.
- Only if you are using Google Contacts: Telephone book entries you deleted in the FRITZ!Box are also deleted from your Google Contacts.
Note:With other online providers, you can only delete phone entries directly on the provider's website.
