Maximum number of calls over the FRITZ!Box

You can conduct up to eight calls simultaneously over the internet. Depending on the connection type (for example DECT, LAN), further limitations apply for the connected and integrated telephony devices.

Note:All instructions on configuration and settings given in this guide refer to the latest FRITZ!OS for the FRITZ!Box.

1 IP phones

Two connections are established for each call with an IP phone on the 'LAN/WAN' port.

Therefore, you can only conduct up to four calls simultaneously with IP phones. Additionally, the total number of calls possible is reduced.

Examples:
A call is being conducted with an IP phone. Then six additional calls can be made using the other interfaces.
Calls are being conducted with two IP phones. Then four additional calls can be made using the other interfaces.
Calls are being conducted with four IP phones. Then no additional calls can be conducted using the other interfaces.

2 DECT devices

You can conduct up to five calls simultaneously with cordless phones that are registered with the FRITZ!Box.

Examples:
Calls are being conducted with five cordless phones and an IP phone. Then one additional call can be conducted using the other interfaces.
Calls are being conducted with four cordless phones and two IP phones. Then no additional calls can be conducted using another interface.

3 Analogue devices

You can conduct one call with each analogue device connected to the 'FON 1' or 'FON 2' socket.

4 ISDN devices

Up to two calls can be conducted at the same time with ISDN devices connected to the 'FON S0' socket.

5 Integrated answering machine and fax function

The answering machine and the fax can each accept one call. All other callers hear a busy signal, even if you set up more than one answering machine. You cannot send a fax while receiving a fax, and you cannot receiving a fax while sending one.
