Adding photos of callers and background images for FRITZ!Fon
Photos can be added to contacts in the FRITZ!Box phone book (contact pictures). The photos are then displayed on your FRITZ!Fon when you receive a call from that contact. For each FRITZ!Fon you can also configure your own background image that is displayed in standby mode.
Requirements / Restrictions
- Only FRITZ!Fons with colour displays allow you to configure photos and background images.
- No DECT extenders from other manufacturers may be registered with the FRITZ!Box.
- You can assign a maximum of 256 photos to phone book entries.
- You can add photos to phone books created in the FRITZ!Box. With online phone books, the images from the online phone book are displayed.
- Photos and background pictures must be in JPEG file format.
Note:We recommend a resolution of at least 240x320 pixels for the images, with an ideal aspect ratio of 1:1. If you save an image as a JPEG in image editing software, we recommend using 'baseline' encoding (usually the default).
Note:All instructions on configuration and settings given in this guide refer to the latest FRITZ!OS for the FRITZ!Box.

DECT encryption must be enabled to use convenience functions with your FRITZ!Fon:

- Click on 'DECT' in the 'Telephony' menu.
- Enable the 'Permit only secure DECT connections (recommended)' option in the 'Security' section.
- Click on 'Apply' to save the settings.

If the tab is not displayed, the FRITZ!Box is configured as a Mesh Repeater. Photos can only be added in the Mesh Master and are not displayed in the phone book of the Mesh Repeater.
- Click on the 'Browse...' or 'Choose File' button and select the desired photo.
- Click on 'Apply' and 'OK' to save the settings.
