Setting up FRITZ!Box for use with a DSL line from Init7

The FRITZ!Box is optimally prepared for use with Init7. Simply connect the FRITZ!Box to the DSL line and configure the internet connection in the FRITZ!Box.

The complete FRITZ!Box range of functions for internet, telephony, and TV (TV7) is then available to all of the devices in the home network without restriction.

Note:All instructions on configuration and settings given in this guide refer to the latest FRITZ!OS for the FRITZ!Box.

1 Having your account information ready

  1. Have your personal account information for internet access that you received from Init7 ready.

    Note:Init7 sent you the account information via email after you concluded the contract with them. If you did not receive your account information, contact Init7.

2 Connecting the FRITZ!Box to the DSL line

How to connect the cables depends on which socket your phone socket has:

Phone socket with LAN port

  1. Use a network cable to connect the port marked 'DSL' on the FRITZ!Box to the LAN port on the phone socket, for example the network cable included with delivery.

Phone socket with Reichle socket

  1. Insert the Reichle adapter (TT89/RJ11) into the Reichle socket of the phone socket.
  2. Insert the DSL cable (Y cable) into the 'DSL' socket on the FRITZ!Box and one of the two short cable ends into the Reichle adapter. Leave the other end of the cable hanging.

3 Setting the country of use

  1. Open the FRITZ!Box user interface.
  2. Enter the FRITZ!Box password given on the type label of the FRITZ!Box and click on 'Log In'.
  3. Click on 'System' and then on 'Region and Language'.
  4. Click on the 'Region' tab.
  5. Select 'Switzerland' from the drop-down list.

    Important:When the regional options are changed, the phone settings (for example telephony devices, call diversion settings, dialling rules) are reset and must be reconfigured.

  6. Click on 'Apply' to save the settings.

4 Configuring the internet connection in the FRITZ!Box

  1. Click on 'Internet' in the FRITZ!Box user interface.
  2. Click on 'Account Information' in the 'Internet' menu.
  3. Select 'more internet service providers' and 'other internet service provider' from the second drop-down list.
  4. Enable the 'Connection to a DSL line' option in the 'Connect via' area.
  5. Enter the account information you received from Init7 in the relevant fields.
  6. Click on 'Apply' to save the settings. Now the FRITZ!Box establishes the internet connection.

    Important:If the FRITZ!Box cannot connect to the internet, either your internet access has not been activated yet, or the account information is incorrect. In this case, contact Init7.
