What is intelligent networking and how does it work?
With the 'intelligent networking' feature, the FRITZ!Box itself optimizes the connection of your FRITZ! devices, resulting in an even better and smarter FRITZ! Mesh.
As soon as you use more than one Mesh Repeater with your FRITZ!Box (Mesh Master), the connections of the Mesh Repeaters are re-evaluated and optimized based on the current conditions of your Wi-Fi environment whenever changes are made in the home network or a Mesh Repeater is restarted. The Mesh Master also takes the Wi-Fi properties (e.g. tri-band Wi-Fi) and the connection type (e.g. LAN) of the individual Mesh Repeaters as well as the resulting total speed of the different possible connection paths into account.
FRITZ! Mesh optimizes itself
Setting up a Mesh Repeater is now even easier. Simply establish a connection to the Mesh Master at the push of a button and then plug the newly added Mesh Repeater into a socket at the desired location. The connection to the Mesh Master is then established automatically via the best possible route in your home network. This may be, for example, by cascading through an existing Mesh Repeater. You do not need to do anything else; the devices synchronize with each other to provide maximum performance in the home network.
Prerequisites for intelligent networking
To use intelligent networking, FRITZ!OS 8.20 must be installed on the Mesh Master and Mesh Repeaters, and it is already enabled by default. Connections from a Mesh Repeater are still optimized by intelligent networking if adoption of the settings from the Mesh is disabled. If you would prefer to manually specify which of your FRITZ! devices a Mesh Repeater is connected to, you can disable the feature under 'Home Network > Mesh > Mesh Settings' in the FRITZ!Box user interface. However, intelligent networking is then no longer available in the entire Mesh.
