Setting up an analogue phone in the FRITZ!Box

You want to connect an analogue phone to the FRITZ!Box and set it up? ✔ It's easy with this guide.

You can connect analogue corded phones and analogue cordless phones with their own base station to the FRITZ!Box. Once you have set up the phones, you can make calls with them using all of the phone numbers entered in the FRITZ!Box.

Note:All instructions on configuration and settings given in this guide refer to the latest FRITZ!OS for the FRITZ!Box.

1 Configuring phone numbers in the FRITZ!Box

Configure all of the available phone numbers in the FRITZ!Box:

Configuring internet phone numbers

  1. Configure the internet phone numbers in the FRITZ!Box.

Configuring landline numbers

  1. Configure the landline number in the FRITZ!Box.

2 Connecting the phone to the FRITZ!Box

  1. Connect the phone to an analogue extension on the FRITZ!Box (for example 'FON 1').

3 Configuring a phone in the FRITZ!Box

  1. Click on 'Telephony' in the FRITZ!Box user interface.
  2. Click on 'Telephony Devices' in the 'Telephony' menu.
  3. If the phone is already displayed in the list of telephony devices, click on the (Delete) button for the phone.
  4. Reconfigure the phone: Click on the 'Configure New Device' button.
  5. Enable the 'Phone (with or without answering machine)' option and click on 'Next'.
  6. Select the interface (for example 'FON 1') to which you connected the phone and click on 'Next'. A wizard takes you through the configuration.

    Important:If you cannot select the socket that you connected the phone to: Another telephony device is already configured for that socket. Delete that device first.
