The FRITZ!Box can be used as a wireless extender with an existing FRITZ!Box. If both of the FRITZ!Box models support FRITZ!Mesh, you can configure the FRITZ!Box as a Mesh Repeater. However, the FRITZ!Box cannot be used as a wireless extender with a router from another manufacturer because currently there is no manufacturer-independent Mesh standard.

If you want to extend the Wi-Fi range of a router from another manufacturer, you can use a FRITZ!Repeater. FRITZ!Repeaters behave like conventional wireless devices towards wireless routers and can therefore be used with all commercially available routers.
