Setting up the FRITZ!Box for use with a PŸUR cable connection

The FRITZ!Box is already configured for use with a cable connection from PŸUR in the factory settings. Simply connect the FRITZ!Box to the cable modem from PŸUR. The complete FRITZ!Box range of functions for internet, telephony, and smart home is then available to all of the devices in your home network without restriction.

If you changed the settings of the FRITZ!Box, configure the FRITZ!Box as described in this guide.

1 Connecting a cable modem

  1. Either connect the cable modem to the first multimedia socket or to the socket that the cable technician used for the original installation. Only use the coaxial cable (without an extension) provided by the cable technician to connect it.

2 Configuring the internet connection in the FRITZ!Box

  1. Open the FRITZ!Box user interface.
  2. Enter the FRITZ!Box password given on the type label of the FRITZ!Box and click on 'Log In'.
  3. Click on 'Internet' and then on 'Account Information'.
  4. Select 'Cable modem or internet router' from the 'Internet connection via' drop-down list.
  5. Enter the speeds of your internet connection in the 'Downstream' and 'Upstream' fields.
  6. Use a network cable to connect the cable modem to the 'WAN' port on the FRITZ!Box and click on 'Apply' to save the settings.
  7. Now the FRITZ!Box checks whether the internet connection can be established. Configuration is complete as soon as the message 'The internet connection check was successful' is displayed.

    Note:If the internet connection check fails, your internet access has not been activated yet. In this case, contact the internet service provider.

3 Setting up telephony in the FRITZ!Box

Having your login information ready

  1. Have the login information for telephony ready that was displayed in your My PŸUR customer area under "Meine Daten > Telefoniezugangsdaten (SIP-Telefonie)".

    Note:If your login information is not displayed in the customer area, contact PŸUR.

Configuring phone numbers

  1. Click "Telephony" in the FRITZ!Box user interface.
  2. Click "Telephone Numbers" in the "Telephony" menu.
  3. Click the "New Telephone Number" button.
  4. Select "PŸUR" from the drop-down list.
  5. Enter your area code and telephone number by "Telephone Number".
  6. For the "Password", enter the password shown in the My PŸUR customer area.
  7. Click "Next" and follow the wizard's instructions.

Assigning phone numbers

  1. Click on 'Telephony' in the FRITZ!Box user interface.
  2. Click on 'Telephony Devices' in the 'Telephony' menu.
  3. Click on the (Edit) button for the respective telephony device.

    Important:If the telephony device was not configured yet, click on the 'Configure New Device' button and follow the wizard's instructions.

  4. From the 'Outgoing Calls' drop-down list, select the number to be used by the telephony device for making outgoing calls. If you do not select a phone number, the number entered under 'Telephony > Phone Numbers > Line Settings' is used for making calls.
  5. Select the phone numbers to which the telephony device should react when you receive calls. You can select up to ten numbers (including the number for outgoing calls).
  6. Click on 'Apply' to save the settings.
