Setting up the FRITZ!Box for use with a fiber optic connection from Init7

The FRITZ!Box is optimally prepared for use with Init7. Simply connect the FRITZ!Box to the fiber optic modem and configure the internet connection in the FRITZ!Box.

The complete FRITZ!Box range of functions for internet, television (TV7), and smart home is then available to all of the devices in the home network without restriction.

1 Connecting the FRITZ!Box

  1. Insert one end of a network cable into the 'WAN' port on the FRITZ!Box. Use the network cable supplied with the FRITZ!Box, for example.
  2. Insert the other end of the network cable into the LAN port on the fiber optic modem (ONT, Optical Network Termination).

2 Configuring the internet connection in the FRITZ!Box

  1. Open the FRITZ!Box user interface.
  2. Enter the FRITZ!Box password given on the type label of the FRITZ!Box and click on 'Log In'.
  3. Click on 'Internet' and then on 'Account Information'.
  4. Select 'DSL or fiber optic modem' from the drop-down list 'Internet connection via'.
  5. Select 'other internet service provider'.
  6. If you are using the FRITZ!Box on a Fiber7 or Crossover7 line:
    1. Enable the 'No' option in the 'Account Information' section.
  7. If you are using the FRITZ!Box on a hybrid7 line:
    1. Enable the 'Yes' option in the 'Account Information' section.
    2. Enter the account information you received from Init7 in the relevant fields.
  8. Click on 'Apply' to save the settings. Now the FRITZ!Box establishes the internet connection.

    Important:If the FRITZ!Box cannot connect to the internet, either your internet access has not been activated yet, or the account information is incorrect. In this case, contact Init7.
